測(cè)試原理：
使大量小的、帶有鋒利邊緣的鋼丸或碎石在短時(shí)間內(nèi)撞擊層表面，整個(gè)試驗(yàn)在可控溫度下進(jìn)行。石擊結(jié)束后，用膠帶去除松散涂層，露出樣板上殘留的石擊點(diǎn)痕跡，通過分析涂層的破壞程度判斷其抗石擊性能的優(yōu)劣。
目前，國(guó)內(nèi)外有以下兩大體系的涂層抗石擊性試驗(yàn)及評(píng)價(jià)方法被廣泛應(yīng)用。

標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化組織（ISO）制訂的ISO 20567-1《色漆和清漆 涂層的耐石性的測(cè)定 第1部分：多次沖擊試驗(yàn)》來源于德國(guó)工業(yè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)DIN 55996-1：2001《涂層材料的碎石沖擊強(qiáng)度檢驗(yàn)第1部分：多重沖擊試驗(yàn)》，所以在歐洲，德國(guó)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化協(xié)會(huì)、法國(guó)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化協(xié)會(huì)和奧地利標(biāo)準(zhǔn)化協(xié)會(huì)等均引用此標(biāo)準(zhǔn)建立了自己本國(guó)的檢測(cè)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)。
例如，德國(guó)汽車公司采用的標(biāo)準(zhǔn)為DIN EN ISO 20567-1《色漆和清漆 涂層的耐石擊性的測(cè)定第1部分：多次沖擊試驗(yàn)》，設(shè)備為德國(guó)Erichsen公司的508型多功能抗石擊儀。
SAE體系
美國(guó)汽車工程師協(xié)會(huì)（SAE）制定的SAE J400《汽車表面涂層的抗碎石測(cè)試》多被美國(guó)的通用和福特等汽車公司采用。
日系汽車公司采用的抗石擊方法大體溫表與SAE J400《汽車表面涂層的抗碎石測(cè)試》相似，但在碎石的規(guī)格、試驗(yàn)溫度和評(píng)價(jià)方法等方面又有所不同。因我國(guó)有較多的與日本汽車公司合資的企業(yè)，所以JIS的射石法也比較常見。
